Nitto Crosstek Reviews: Why Buy This Product?

nitto crosstek 2 reviews tire rackI was looking for a top-notch all-season tire for my SUV. After doing a ton of research and talking to some friends who are self-proclaimed tire experts, I was convinced that the Crosstek 2 from Nitto was my best bet. These tires have exceeded nearly all of my expectations in the three months that I’ve used them.

Unparalleled Traction

The first and perhaps most significant win-win feature I want to highlight deals with traction. The Crosstek 2 tire features three circumferential grooves which are designed in a way to channel water away and ensure that the tread is in contact with the road.

Moreover, the read blocks have 3D Multi-Wave Sipes to create additional biting edges. This improves traction on wet surfaces and reduces tread flex.

Nitto used simulation tests to identify the pattern designs and tread block that provide enhanced water evacuation and stable contact even during heavy braking in unfavorable weather conditions.

With the Crosstek 2 tires on your vehicle, you can rest assured that you are safe irrespective of the weather conditions.

Tread Life

One of the unique features of the Crosstek 2 tire is the thoughtful inclusion of service indicators that allow you to quickly and conveniently monitor tread wear and alignment. With the help of these service indicators, you will be able to identify rotation issues and tire maintenance requirements quickly.

Each of the two shoulder ribs has three of these service indicators. If the indicators on one of the shoulder ribs wear faster than those on the other shoulder rib, you may need to get additional servicing.

This is a unique feature that you won’t find in the majority of tire models out there. The service indicators keep you visually informed and eliminate the chances of critically damaging the tires. If you properly maintain your tires and frequently rotate them, the indicators on both sides will wear out at a similar pace.

Enhanced Ride

The last thing you want to experience after purchasing and installing a new set of tires is a loud noise. Nitto understood this and left no stone unturned to ensure that the Crosstek 2 provides a quiet and comfortable ride.

How does it do that? The circumferential grooves come equipped with dense serrations on the walls. When the tire comes in contact with the road, these grooves become a “pipe.” This leads to a sudden compression and release of the air there, thereby reducing “pipe resonance noise” significantly.

If you haven’t heard of this phenomenon before, you’d be surprised to know that it creates the sound in a flute. It is remarkable that Nitto was able to apply it to a tire model to reduce its noise emission.

Moreover, I found the ribbed tread design to provide an enhanced steering response and cornering ability.

Durability & Versatility

Last but not least, Crosstek 2 is highly durable and will outlive most of the competition in its price range. It is backed by an impressive treadwear warranty, which is based on the speed rating and whether it is LT or non-LT.

All the variants come with a treadwear warranty which covers at least 50,000 miles. That just goes to show Nitto’s confidence in their products.

And that’s not all; this exceptional tire is available in various size options, ranging from 16 to 22 inches.

It is a significant upgrade compared to its predecessor, the Crosstek model, and it performs exceptionally well on dry as well as wet terrains.

What Could’ve Been Better?

After using the Crosstek 2 tires extensively on a couple of different terrains, there is no significant problem that I encountered. The only gripe I have with this tire model is its price.

It is not the most affordable tire model out there. Although it packs a lot of excellent features and performs well, I feel like its cost makes it suitable only for a select few customers. So if you don’t have a lavish budget for replacement tires, you may find the Crosstek 2 to be too expensive.

Driving and maintaining an SUV, CUV or truck translates to considerable maintenance work and expenses. As such, vehicle owners are always on the lookout for cheaper replacement tires.

Verdict

Nitto is a reputed brand, and the Crosstek 2 is one of its best models available today in the all-season radial tire segment.

You may find it to be a bit expensive, but it has enough credentials to back up that higher price tag. In fact, its higher price reflects the top-notch quality and longevity it provides. So my recommendation is a definite buy.
