Tiger Paw Touring Review Oct 2024: Why Buy This Product?

tiger paw touring tire reviewWe tested the Tiger Paw Touring on our 2019 Honda Odyssey. After driving around for a short while, we felt that it suited the vehicle really well.

Usually, the stock summer tires are more comfortable in warm conditions, but that wasn’t the case this time. The Uniroyal tires not only offer better comfort but also much more stability when cornering.

Now, let’s check out the features which impressed us the most.

Good All-Season Performance

We started by testing the Tiger Paw Touring under dry and wet conditions, and that’s where it impressed us the most. The ride was very stable throughout, and the tires offered exceptional grip.

One of the reasons for its confidence-inspiring performance under wet conditions is undoubtedly the four circumferential grooves. They help in reducing the risk of hydroplaning, and it certainly shows in its performance.

Under snowy conditions, we can’t say that it showed class-leading performance. Its performance was more in line with middle-of-the-pack tires. However, on challenging icy conditions, it didn’t perform up to expectations (more on that later).

Quiet and Comfortable Ride

The ride is surely the best aspect of this tread set. In fact, at its price, this tire set ranks among the best. In our opinion, if you do a lot of highway driving, then the Tiger Paw Touring makes for a great choice.

But that’s not the best part about this tread set. That honor goes to the impressive noise levels or lack thereof generated by the tires. Compared to the stock offerings, this set performed significantly better, and the stock tires are no slouch either!

Stability

This is another area where the Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring shined. We believe that the straight-line stability is something worth mentioning. In fact, at speeds north of 100 mph, our Odyssey stayed planted on the ground. At this speed, the stock tires didn’t inspire a lot of confidence.

Apart from the excellent grip, we believe that minimal tire noise played a major role in increasing our confidence at high speeds.

When it comes to cornering, this tire set performs admirably. As you might already know, a minivan like the Odyssey probably isn’t the best vehicle to fling around corners. But despite that, the tires gripped well, and it did a good job in hiding the car’s significant weight and size.

Excellent Tread Life and Warranty

The Tiger Paw Touring comes with a 70,000 mile or 6-year warranty, and that is among the best in class.

While a good warranty offers peace of mind, nobody actually wants to get their tires replaced under warranty. Fortunately, this tread set is as durable as they come. The DuraShield construction goes a long way in providing improved tread life. In our opinion, you don’t need to worry about going through a tire change in the warranty period.

What Could Have Been Better?

While the Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring does an admirable job in almost all areas, it fails to impress under icy road conditions. But to be fair, we haven’t really come across an all-season tire set which offers impressive grip and stability over cold, slippery surfaces. Even the Goodyear Ecopia All-Season tire we tested earlier didn’t inspire much confidence under the same conditions.

Pros

Pros:
  • Excellent performance on dry and wet conditions
  • Generates minimum tire noise
  • Ride quality is among the best
  • Great warranty and tread life

Cons

Cons:
  • Doesn’t inspire much confidence in icy conditions

Verdict

Honestly, this is one of the best all-season tires we have tested, and it’s reasonably priced too!

In our opinion, if you don’t live in an area that faces harsh winters, the Tiger Paw Touring should do the job just fine. However, if you need to drive on icy roads often, you might want to consider a different tread set.
